We have great news! Professional development is “moving” — online, that is. As you may already be aware, we are transitioning how you register for professional development courses and earn credit from eConnect to myPortal.
Through a new platform called myDCCCDsuccess Learning, you will see a more streamlined process for registration and review of completed PDUs. Even those external event submissions should appear on your transcript more quickly! Plus, you will even be able to register directly through your mobile device using the myDCCCDsuccess Learning app.
Effective August 1, 2019, all employees will access a new tool to register for professional development units (PDUs) from locations within DCCCD and also submit external events from off-campus conference and training opportunities. This change aligns with the new professional development year.

Who will be able to use the new platform?
All employees (full-time and part-time) will be expected to use this system to submit for all professional development units (PDUs).
What is myDCCCDsuccess Learning and where can I find it?
myDCCCDsuccess Learning is a online platform we will use for employees to access professional development registration, submissions, and transcripts. Employees will access this through myPortal instead of eConnect, and further communication and training will come as part of this transition process.
How do I complete District compliance training?
Any District compliance training must be completed through myDCCCDsuccess Learning to appear on your transcript. Documentation no longer needs to be submitted to Wildfire for processing this credit. Questions regarding compliance training expectations should be directed to your supervisor.
Does this transition change any professional development expectations for employees?
No, any professional development policies from DCCCD leadership, North Lake College leadership, and direct supervisors will not change as part of the transition to myDCCCDsuccess Learning. All employees are also still expected to register and sign-in at any sessions facilitated through the District and DCCCD Colleges.
When does this change go into effect?
Effective August 1, 2019, all professional development units will be documented and registered in myDCCCDsuccess Learning only. This includes all DCCCD Colleges, District, and Community-related registrations and credit processing.
What are PDUs?
Professional development units (PDUs) are the hours that you earn for professional development (or formerly staff enrichment). We will use this term moving forward to align with District communication and industry standards.
Why are we making this change?
This platform is designed to support our growing need to make the documentation process for professional development easier. Not only will you see a more streamlined process for registration and review of completed PDUs, but external event submissions should appear on your transcript more quickly as well.
In addition, myDCCCDsuccess Learning goes beyond our limited registration in eConnect to provide you with increased functionality to customize your professional development interests/needs, to target specific training topics, and to create reports that you can use with your supervisor to tailor your individual growth. This change will help North Lake College identify and better support these professional development needs.
