Arturo Ozuna

Arturo joined North Lake College in November of 2015. As the Director of the Wildfire Institute of Professional Development, he utilizes his experience with professional development, curriculum development, instructional design, and instructional technology to create, implement, and assess programs, events, and resources for new and experienced staff and faculty. Through his work, Arturo promotes personal and professional growth and life-long learning. He has worked in higher education for over 15 years as a IT Technician, Curriculum Coordinator, Instructional Designer, and Faculty Development Specialist, Instructional Technologist, and LMS administrator and has over 9 years of experience in professional development and training.

Born in Fort Worth, Texas, Arturo earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Information Systems from the University of Texas at Arlington in 2000 and a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Phoenix, Las Colinas Campus in 2006.

Aside from his role as a Director of Professional Development, Arturo serves as an adjunct instructor for Tarrant County College where he regularly teaches business courses online. He is also a member/co-founder of the award-winning Mexican folk group Mariachi de Oro.

Arturo’s professional interests include strengths-based development, learner-centered instruction, online and blended learning, strategic planning, and alternative credentialing.
