Food Insecurity for Students

The U.S. Government Accountability Office released a report detailing the eligibility for students to access federal food assistance benefits through the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP). This report was conducted due to the evidence showing food insecurity can have a negative impact on some students’ academic success. This report includes what is known about the extent of the impact of food insecurity, how certain colleges are focusing on food insecurity of their students, and to what extent federal food assistance is benefiting students.
