In instances of harmful or violent words, actions, or behaviors, bystanders have a choice to ignore and accept the abuse or intervene and address the violence. This program’s goal is to prepare communities to implement a strategy of violence prevention that reduces power-based personal violence, which includes sexual violence, relationship violence, stalking and bullying.

DCCCD-Veterans Mental Health Summit 2019 @ H200

The DCCCD Professional Counselors Council and Veterans Council in partnership with the North Texas Veterans Administration Medical Services will host the Veterans Mental Health Summit 2019 at Eastfield College on September 17 and North Lake College on September 20.   The Summit will be open to students, District employees, North Texas VA staff, and interested community members.  The Councils want to increase collaboration with our community partners and better attend to the mental health well-being of Veterans, their families, and military connected individuals.  The Summit will have the same agenda for both locations.  It will begin with a keynote speaker, followed by three talk sessions, and a resource fair.  Participants will receive lunch.

DCCCD Strategic Priorities:

  • Target underserved communities and individuals with outreach strategies aligned with cultural contexts

  • Remove barriers to participation and persistence
