Employee Training Icon Adjunct Faculty Development LogoEveryone can measurably and systematically reduce violence within any given community. This program focuses fundamentally on the productive power of bystanders, on those of us who witness power-based violence between others. In instances of harmful or violent words, actions, or behaviors, bystanders have a choice to ignore and accept the abuse or intervene and address the violence. This program’s goal is to prepare communities to implement a strategy of violence prevention that reduces power-based personal violence, which includes sexual violence, relationship violence, stalking and bullying.

This webcast will explore the issue with a mix of qualitative and quantitative research, examples of current national initiatives, and hearing from the women themselves. Audience participation and communication will be encouraged to create a robust discussion.

NLC – Calibration Part I: ENGL, GOVT, MATH, PHIL @ G402

Classroom Instruction IconThis is a program-level core assessment training session for all faculty in ENGL, GOVT, MATH and PHIL. During this session, we will train faculty and adjuncts on how to score artifacts on these program-level (core) rubrics: Critical Thinking, Written Communication and Visual Communication Skills. Disciplines will work together within their group, scoring several sample artifacts. We will have small and large group discussions so that everyone understands the rubric and has any questions answered before they have to score artifacts.
